The death of a terrorist: tweet by tweet Confirmation of the death of Osama Bin Laden was broken on the social networking site Twitter, with tweets snowballing to 4000 per second during President Obama's speech. Rumours surrounding the Al Qaeda terrorist's death first appeared on the social networking site at around 9:30pm, with television networks failing to pick up on the speculation until shortly after 10:30pm. By that time, the rumour had already been confirmed on Keith Urbahn's twitter account, the chief of staff for the former defense secretary Donald Rumsfeld (see above).To mark this historic occassion, we've assembled a snapshot of what the Twitterverse looked like during the story's peak.
