Dell Inspiron Mini 9 vs Acer Aspire One - [Sep 17, 2008]

We've photographed Dell's new Inspiron Mini 9 side by side with one of our favourite ultra-minis - the Acer Aspire One. The Dell Inspiron Mini 9 has the edge in terms of price, with a launch price of $599 with Windows XP. By contrast, the Acer Aspire One started with $649 for the XP model, and $599 for the Linux model (though you'll find it cheaper online). Both machines run Intel Atom and the Acer comes with a Linux option out of the box, vs XP only for the Dell (at this stage).
