Photo Gallery: 3D gaming monitors debut
It's not exactly Jaws 19, but Beyond Gaming and Internet cafe represents the first 3D gaming longue in Australia, and by all impressions, it looks like the future is already here.

Photo gallery: Nokia E71 faces off against iPhone 3G
For a QWERTY phone, the E71 is very slim. It's similarly sized to the iPhone 3G, coming in a mere 127g verse 133g for the iPhone. The E71 is also on par with newly-arrived QWERTY rival the Palm Treo Pro (it's actually a tad slimmer). It's taller and wider than the non-QWERTY n95, but side by side it's drastically slimmer. Many of the smartphones we've seen have suffered from a poor combination of clunky touchscreen interfaces, or bulky QWERTY form factors. This one nails the combination.

Samsung i780 vs Blackberry Bold
Samsung's new i780 goes up against the Blackberry Bold and other QWERTY phones like the Nokia E71. Much has been made about the Bold’s new QVGA (480 x 320) display which is arguably the best looking colour TFT LCD on a handset device. The i780 has a unique 320 x 320 display which looks considerably duller in comparison, though we did found the added height useful for browsing websites and long list.

Photos: Dell Studio Hybrid vs Xbox 360
Dell's Studio Hybrid is tiny, measuring 196.5mm long, which is a little less than half the width of a 19inch (non-widescreen) LCD monitor. We've put it side by side against the Xbox 360, and as you can see from the photos, the Dell is tiny by comparison. The entire system weighs a touch over 2Kg, though the ASUS Eee Box is 1Kg. Prices start at $999, but that doesn't include a monitor. You get Core 2 Duo and Vista, while the Asus Eee Box comes with the Atom chip and Windows XP.

Unboxed: Palm Treo Pro
Can Palm finally get back into the ring and do some damge to their competitors? Or is it already too late for the ailing smartphone company? These pics should give you a closer look, either way. But we have to say - nice box guys.

Photos: Ultimate Geek Chandelier
Imagine yourself basking under the glory of giant, hanging 45nm silicon chip wafers. Now imagine no more. Check out the pics here. We spotted this giant chandelier made from silicon chip wafers at the upstairs lobby area of the Moscone Center at Intel’s IDF event in San Francisco. It’s hard to tell exactly how big it is, but we’d hazard a guess at around 10 metres tall.

Acer Predator Gaming Machine launch
It’s got the sleek curves of a transforming autobot and the flaming orange of well....Michael Bay’s favourite, Bumblebee.
The Predator is one serious gaming desktop, which is not surprising really, considering the full power of the Predator’s hulk sized processor is fuelled by an awsome Intel Core2 Extreme quad-core, with 1333MHz FSB.
Take a peak at the new beast from Acer.

Intel/Yahoo Internet TV
The menu system you see in our photo gallery is on a TV, showing live TV, with desktop Internet apps (widgets) overlaid. An embeded Intel chip runs desktop Internet widgets, on top of what you’re watching - things like eBay auctions, Flickr photos, stocks. It works using an Intel chip inside the TV, and an Ethernet Internet connection.

Official Sydney TMC launch, road tests, exclusive demo pics & amazing classic cars
The Suma Traffic Management Centre (TMC) finally launched today in Sydney and Brisbane. A small media gathering took place at a classic car store, where (not surprisingly), most eyes were on the million dollar merchandise and not the funky little TMC transmitters. We got to sit in a live driving test of a TMC unit and were very happy with the results.
