The name of Imation’s new Clip Flash Drive 2GB leaves little to the imagination. The drive itself is only marginally longer than an inch, and when you’ve finished using it you can stow it snugly into the rubber holder, which has a karabiner on the end of it. In practice, the arrangement feels secure – the drive isn’t going to come loose in your pocket, and a few drop tests left it in perfect working order. The only downside to the small size is disappointing speed: we saw only 3.6MB/s when writing files and 9.1MB/s when reading. But the 2GB capacity, along with its portability and security, are the Clip Flash Drive’s biggest features. However, it’s doomed by its price, which can’t stand up against the cheaper, superior Sandisk Cruzer Titanium or the 6GB WD mini hard disk.
