The announcement of a pair of 2GHz dual-core processors from ARM has drawn speculation over a new chip war with Intel in the netbook space, despite the fact that products based on the chips are not likely to appear for at least another year.

At Computex today, home grown Taiwanese firm Acer unveiled its new Aspire One netbook sporting the Android operating system.

It is looking like Acer will be the first PC manufacturer to release an Android powered netbook. According to a company statement, the outfit will release an Android version of the Aspire One in the third quarter of this year.
