Impressive performance at a nice price

The PixelView range of graphics cards share a sizeable proportion of the OEM market, with many of the small-to-medium PC vendors using them to outfit their PCs with inexpensive graphics solutions.

The Radeon 7500 is the little brother to the Radeon 8500 and is essentially an enhanced version of the original Radeon card, an example of which was tested in this round-up as a yardstick and included in the performance graphs (pages 50-51). It features the Charisma Engine; ATIs equivalent of the T&L engine found in GeForce-based cards.

The Hercules name is synonymous with quality and reliability, as well as blue-coloured graphics cards. Based around NVIDIA's new budget graphics chipset, the GeForce2 Titanium, the Hercules 3D Prophet II Titanium is Guillemot's latest offering, and it too is blue in colour.

Despite the somewhat dubious branding the GeForce2 Ti cards are not actually Ti 500 cards, hence the inclusion of the forward slash in the name - Gainward is an old stalwart in the graphics game even though it doesnt enjoy a big profile here.
