The "Degausser" uses a bank of lead acid batteries and strong magnetic field to make sure your files are never, ever seen again.
We're told the vault-like device sells for $19,000, but send in your own drives to Ontrack Data Recovery and we're told they'll destroy everything on it for $25.

Dubbed the "Degausser DG.02", the unit is fed by a large supply of DC current generated by sealed lead acid batteries. Using magnetic field, OnTrack claims the Degausser can wipe a drive in four seconds. It works with tapes, diskettes, ZIP drives, cassettes.

 If you buy a hammer you can do the job yourself for about $4. Then you're guaranteed that info is never coming back.

 actually that's no necessarily true. Commercial data recovery experts are known to retreive data from physically damaged drives - including drives that have been through office fires. unless it's physically shattered, it's possible to recover the data.

 Best option is use of wiping software. You can use stellar drive wipe software which wipe data beyond recovery. Get download version from here:drive wipe
