PolyView 4.21

An all-in-one image viewer, editor and converter

Platform : Windows 2000, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows NT, Windows XP

Type: shareware

Manufacturer: PolyBytes

Size: 3.03MB

Rating: 3

Verdict: A low-priced option for those requiring a bit more than the basic image editing options

System Requirements:
Minimum: Pentium processor; 16MB RAM; 5MB hard disk space.

PolyView is intuitive and easy to use, and features impressive viewing capabilities along with many useful image manipulation tools.

The majority of file formats are supported, including bitmap, gif, DCX, IFF, Jpeg, PCX, PSD, SGF and TIFF among others. Images can be converted into any of these formats.

It works a little like Windows Explorer, allowing you to browse folders and display file names only or, in browse mode, to display the image in an adjacent window when its file name is selected.

Slide shows can be created and saved, or created on the fly. Various display options are available that let you alter the delay between each image, randomise, add transition effects, and much more.

All the standard image-editing features are included - colour, brightness and contrast adjustment - along with image rotation and several other more useful features. These include a scratch removal tool, text insertion and freehand/area selection.

Images can be acquired from any Twain source installed on your PC with images displayed individually in their own windows.

Another neat feature is the ability to create animated gifs from images, complete with delay time, disposal method and looping abilities.

This latest version features support for Canon RAW files, Adobe Digital Negative and numerous usability enhancements.
