As with all the GeForce3 Ti cards the ASUS V8200 T2 Deluxe features two new additions to the NVIDIA nfiniteFX engine, the moniker that encompasses hardware features such as Vertex and Pixel Shaders and now, Shadow Buffers and 3D Textures as well. Shadow Buffers enable programmers to add hardware support for real-time light-sourced shadow effects. 3D Textures not only describe surfaces, but also within objects for a more realistic appearance to things such as the grain of wood or marble in a statue.
The Ti 200 variant of which the ASUS V8200 T2 Deluxe belongs to is an interesting beast. It features this updated GPU, though is clocked at a slower speed than a standard GeForce3, with the core running at 175MHz and memory at 400MHz DDR. Although at $660 dollars the ASUS model is not cheap, it represents excellent value if you want the latest in graphics technology but cant afford the $900-plus for the faster Ti 500s.
The V8200 T2 Deluxe is as fully featured as its faster sibling, with TV-in and out, composite connections, 3D glasses and an excellent selection of games and utilities. It may be slower, but the ASUS Ti 200 model still has more than enough grunt to breeze through any game, as it did the benchmarks.
