Mac OS 10.3 Panther
by Staff Writers

It's a little ironic that every new version of Mac OS comes closer to Windows when you consider that Microsoft was originally accused of hijacking Apple's interface. Apple claims to have put 150 new features into Panther, but the two it highlights first are improvements to Finder and the new Exposé[alt+0233 in courier new]. The improvements to Finder bring it one step closer to the Windows menu system, which since 95 has been superior to Apple's. The new one click-reveals-all Finder was sorely needed and makes Panther much easier to navigate than its predecessors.

Motorola MPx200 (smartphone)
by Darren Ellis

This is the second Smartphone we've reviewed (O2's Xphone, March 2004, page 55) but, unlike the Xphone, the Motorola MPx200 features a clamshell design. Smallish, black and sleek, the MPx200 is a Tri-band GSM 900/1800/1900 phone with GPRS which enables email, SMS, MMS and WAP capabilities.

Sony CliePEGNR70VG

Data input is one of the biggest issues many people have with PDAs, and while stylus handwriting recognition and Graffiti dont take long to learn, they can be difficult to master, and cant compare to typing on a keyboard.

LINDOWS OS 4
by Liam Proven

As you're probably aware, LindowsOS is an attempt at a consumer-friendly Linux that looks and works like Windows. It was even originally intended to run Windows applications, using the Wine emulator, although this only works well with certain high-profile programs such as Microsoft Office.

Garmin is a brand that’s been synonymous with GPS navigation since the days when only mariners were using it. So it’s somewhat disappointing that the iQue 3600 doesn’t compare well to the competition here.

PalmOne Treo 650
by Darren Ellis

The 650 really picks up where the 600 left off, and while it doesn't look too different to the eye, many of the changes are under the hood or subtle manipulations of the 600's design. It runs the new Palm OS 5.4 and has a much faster 312MHz Intel PXA270 processor, but the most immediate difference is the screen: it's now double the resolution at 320 x 320.
