A quality design in many ways, and well worth an audition

This is the first display in a fresh new line of TFT monitors to come from Mitsubishi this year, and from this early glimpse things are looking good. The unit we received was a very early pre-production model -- it had missing panels, the occasional loose wire and a completely different colour scheme (the TFT pictured is the final shipping version), but as a look to where Mitsubishi is headed it was perfect for our needs.

A glance at the plain DV2150U with its optical resolution of 1,200 x 2,400dpi in no way reveals what it IS capable of.

Mitsubishi monitors have always been a popular choice in the marketplace, and the Labs, and not without merit.

What do you need from a cordless keyboard? Basically, no cord, and keys that work. Things like smooth action, well-spaced keys, special-function Internet controls and a weighty feel that stops it sliding around are all pluses.

Reviewed in a sneak preview as a pre-production model a few months ago (February 2004, page 48), the DiamondView impressed us then and it’s good to see a full production version fulfill those impressions now. Not a great deal has changed though; it still suffers from a few brightness issues and white wash-out, and the contrast didn’t really translate as well as it should for its rating.

With the longest pixel response time submitted (50ms) we thought it would be a tad on the average side – not so.
