The FP71V+ is a17 inch, 8ms display but it uses some techno-voodoo called Advanced Motion Acceleration to achieve a 5ms grey to grey response time and improve motion performance.

It was the ASUS' dirt cheap price tag which immediately caught our eye, it's just a shame that the overall performance couldn't deliver.

The Umax MaxVision V7 is a budget model, with very little in the way of specifications to tempt, nor does it have the performance to whet your appetite. While most of its scores were on par with the CMV that we used as the yardstick, there were a few problems (namely with displaying truly black blacks) that made the real-world 3D test unpassable.

This is the first display in a fresh new line of TFT monitors to come from Mitsubishi this year, and from this early glimpse things are looking good. The unit we received was a very early pre-production model -- it had missing panels, the occasional loose wire and a completely different colour scheme (the TFT pictured is the final shipping version), but as a look to where Mitsubishi is headed it was perfect for our needs.
