System case - AOpen ATX Midi tower case or Lian Le midi tower aluminium case.

As discussed earlier (see Case closed), the system case is an important consideration when building a PC. The case weve chosen is from AOpen, but we cant help but include a case from Lian Le as a second, more frivolous option. As for the AOpen, weve seen this case quite a few times in the Labs, and its always impressed us. This is mainly down to its superb accessibility, both in terms of actually getting inside and accessing components once inside. Removing the side panel, for example, is as simple as opening a car door. Component layout inside the case is also excellent, with a handy removable hard disk cage.
On top of this, its superbly well built and stylish to boot.

But when it really comes to style, the Lian Le (pictured) is the creme de la creme of PC cases. Its made from polished aluminium, which sets it apart immediately on the appearance front. Inside, the Lian Le design is clean and spacious, with a total of four 5.25in and 3 3.5in drive bays, and three internal fans are included. Youll pay over twice as much for this case, but if you want the best looking PC around, youre guaranteed it.
