But whatever avatar route you prefer, the only thing holding back their widespread deployment and use is a lack of Internet access bandwidth. When broadband access technologies such as ADSL become the norm, there wont be any issues regarding rendering speeds and download rates, and then a virtual world populated by virtual humans will become a very tangible reality.
