Professional Web designers will frequently mix and match applications from two or more developers. It seems it is no longer good enough to bundle several applications together to form a single solution that can be sold as an all-in-one pack.

Macromedia has so many different applications nowadays that it is hard to keep track of them, and the company would love to see every Web developer decide to use the whole range. However, while that may seem desirable it is not totally necessary. Macromedia works on the basis that if you are starting from scratch, you need something to create graphics such as Freehand 9. But if you want to import and edit graphics you should have Fireworks 3.
