This site will eventually offer a guide to the best restaurants around the country. But perhaps the best regional guide is the Cuisine Guide (www.cuisineguide.com.au) for restaurants on the Gold Coast and Tweed. Not only does it list every restaurant and cafe in the area, with reviews on many of them, it also keeps an updated list of takeaway restaurants that home deliver.
When it comes to wine and food, the net can do just about anything except let you taste before you buy.
It will take you exotic places, tell you what the locals eat and drink and even help you prepare the food yourself. Soon you will be able to order the ingredients from you local supermarket over the Internet and get them home delivered.
The days of being able to taste, touch and feel things in a virtual world are still the fare of science fiction writers, but as Jules Verne proved, nothing is impossible. In the meantime, the net is an epicurean world just waiting to be explored.
