Much of the buzz at this years technology expos has come from the latest had-held and mobile communication devices. As you would expect Palm Computing has some impressive stuff in the pipeline. The Palm VII has all the features of other Palm Computing devices plus a broken down version of the Internet obtained from Palm's very own server. The system is in place in the US and Australia and is working at getting its communication networks ready to accommodate this kind of service in the near future.
Erricson has some eye-catching technology on display at its Innovations exhibit in Sydney and Melbourne this year. Among the most dazzling was the prototype of its personal assistant and cordless telephone handset that includes a cordless earpiece. the system uses Erricson's 'Bluetooth' wireless technology to offer short-range radio links between mobile phones and other portable devices and of course the Internet in the palm of your hand.
Apple is among a number of other companies planning to develop such devices. Only you can count on Apple's being multi-coloured.
