A useful utility for learning a new keyboard layout
System Requirements:
Nothing special
Despite the prevalence of Qwerty, the
Dvorak
keyboard layout has several advantages and can make you a faster typist.
Switching between Dvorak and
Qwerty
can be frustrating, however, if you rely on the Language bar in Windows as this
tries to remember settings for different software.
The
Dvorak
Assistant takes on this role without any other features that might cause
confusion.
The keyboard layout can be chosen by right clicking on the small D icon in
the Notification Area or by selecting a shortcut key. Don't forget that of
course the position of the shortcut key will change with the keyboard layout.
An onscreen keyboard appears when Dvorak is selected, a very useful touch
when learning to type in this way. It stays on top of other windows and has
colour coding to help beginners.
A great utility for learning to type with Dvorak.
