Powerful windows utility which is dedicated to managing compressed archives and image files impressively and conveniently. It can be used to mount ZIP, RAR, ISO archives very fast, which enables you to use the files inside it directly without needing extract it beforehand. Such convenience, therefore, saves your time and disk space dramatically. In addition, WinMount, serving as a CD-ROM OR DVD-ROM emulator, supports almost all image file formats, which including but not limited to ISO, CUE/BIN, CCD,BWT, MDS, CDI, NRG, PDI B5T and ISZ.

Generally speaking, Zip or Rar files that we download from Internet need to be decompressed before we can actually use them. This decompression process goes like this: First, you need double-click this archive, then an associated decompresses will open its file list in a window. Now, if you double-click one of the files on the list, it seems that the file is opened automatically, but actually it, including all the other files on the list, has been decompressed to a temp folder in advance before it's opened. This whole decompression process usually takes a lot of time, especially in an age that archives go larger and larger. For instance, decompressing an archive larger than 1G often takes you 10 minutes or more depending on your computer's capability, but now if you have got WinMount at hand, you don't need to tolerate the boring moment spent in decompressing before you can actually use all the files inside the archive. When you've got your WinMount ready to work, you can just right-click on the archive, select "Mount to a new drive " menu item, a few seconds later, the operating system will notify you that a new device has been found and a new drive is created and ready to work. If you open it, you can see that all the files inside the archive are ready for your use.

By WinMount, you can also create a 32G empty virtual drive. Users often ask what it is for, well, the answer is this kind of drive is pretty much like a RAM Disk which is actually a virtual disk in the memory of a computer. Obviously it is very fast, everything in it,however, will be lost once the computer is restarted. WinMount doesn't take up much memory on new creation of the drive, but it will gradually take up some as the WRITE instructions are being executed.
