Saving and backing up files is one thing. But sometimes what you need to recover is an old version of a file. FileHamster monitors folders and makes backups of files when they are changed. Even more useful is the option to add comments to backups. When the file changes FileHamster automatically prompts for a descriptive comment.

More advanced features include the ability to ignore certain files in a folder or allow time between revisions. This helps reduce the number of backups made when saving frequently. It is also possible to force a saved revision if you feel it is needed before making a major change to a document.
