Writing personal histories to go with family trees can often be very daunting with the amount of unorganised material. Personal Historian compliments family tree software as a program for organising and writing about individuals' life stories. Projects like these can seem quite daunting.

Personal Historian uses a time line view to help organise the events in an individual's life. Events are created by date and are also categorised. Personal Historian takes care of listing them in the right order so they can be entered as and when information becomes available. Events can be imported directly from the Roots Magic family tree software.

A collection of national and international events is included with Personal Historian that can be used to jog memories and add context to the personal records.

The final history can be printed, saved as a word-processing documented or as a pdf.
