“IP spam” or “net spam”, is generated through the internal Windows messaging service, which is actually a tool provided to enable network administrators to send messages to multiple users via the network. Advertisers are now increasingly abusing this service by sending messages to large blocks of random IP addresses via the Internet. If you are online with an IP address that happens to be included in the block, the message will suddenly appear on your screen if the Windows® messaging service is active on your computer.
