This is a very useful utility, enabling you to break up a large file into many different pieces and make file transfer/distribution much easier. The size of the split files can be specified to whatever size you wish, from 100K to 650Mb. This is especially useful when emailing files, as many ISPs and webmail providers (i.e. Hotmail) only allow you to send/receive files up to a certain size.
The greatest asset of this software is its versatility - it will split any file type, irrespective of whether it's a music file (mp3, wav etc), a graphics file (tiff, jpeg etc) or, indeed, any other file type. These smaller files can then be sent as separate items. But how do these files get put back together?
The answer is that when the file is split, a tiny program is created which, when activated, allows the recipient to recreate the file in its original form. This means that the same program created when the file is split, enables the recipient to reassemble the program automatically by running the program. The recipient doesn't need to own a copy of File Splitter itself.
Added extras are the ability to print the contents of any folder, view your available RAM and keep track of how many files have been split.
This demo is function limited in that the maximum size of a file that can be split is 4Mb, along with only allowing 40 uses before registration is required. The registered version has no usage limit and will allow you to split files of any size.
