SoftPostCard

Impressive and free antivirus and antispyware package

Platform : Windows 2000, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows NT

Type:

Manufacturer: BuzzSoft

Size: 8Mb

Rating: 4

Verdict: A great antivirus and antispyware program at no cost

System Requirements:
Minimum 486 processor; 16Mb RAM; 8Mb free hard disk space; internet connection.

This is a great little program that enables you to create and send postcards to friends and family via email. You simply run the program, select the picture you wish to send, write your text, fill in the email address and click Send.

The picture can be anything you wish - a previously saved image, picture from the web, graphic, animated GIF, or you can even scan an image directly into SoftPostCard. Once you have chosen the picture and typed the accompanying text, the postcard is translated into an HTML page for transporting across the web.

The recipient of the email will receive a message requesting that they click on a link, which will transfer them directly to the postcard that you've created. On receipt of their first postcard they will need to install a small piece of software to enable them to view it, but there is a direct link included in the message they receive. The file is tiny and will take no more than a minute or so to download. Once they have done this they can view any postcard you send immediately.

There are no options available for customising the display and layout of the postcard, which is a shame as this would create a truly personal item, but despite this, SoftPostCard offers a creative alternative to sending a simple email - great for when abroad etc.
