IcoEdit

Impressive and free antivirus and antispyware package

Platform : Palm OS

Type:

Manufacturer: MapleTop Software

Size: 25.2Kb

Rating: 4

Verdict: A great antivirus and antispyware program at no cost

System Requirements:
Any Palm-compatible device or OS.

This useful and fun application from MapleTop Software allows quick and easy alteration of the icons for your applications - and more. IconEdit will work on any application in your Ram, but not your Rom, so applications such as Address Book cannot be changed.

As you are aware, applications on your Palm can be viewed either by icon or by list, which makes use of a smaller, different icon. Both of these can be edited using IconEdit, and if an application you own does not have an icon you can create one! Along with this you can change the names of the applications too.

Changing the names of you applications may seem pointless, but applications are displayed in your Launcher alphabetically. Alter the names of your most commonly used applications sensibly and they will be displayed in the top of the list for speedy access.

The actual editing process is simple, thanks to IcoEdit's clear and intuitive interface. You simply select the desired application from a drop-down menu and are presented with the relevant small and large icons. Using your stylus, you simply alter the icon by adding or removing pixels. Icons can also be shifted in all directions, flipped over, and even reflected for some rather interesting results.

Have no fear about editing your applications either. There is an undo function should you make an error, and all your original icons can be restored at any time using the restore function of IcoEdit.

You can even use IcoEdit as a backup utility to save all your applications to your PC, in case of a hard reset being required on your Palm. Simply select the backup option for each application and they will be stored in your PC's backup folder at the next HotSync.
