Audiograbber is a well-designed program that allows you to copy audio from your CDs, or from any external 'line in' source, including LPs, the radio or a mixer. The audio is copied digitally, rather than through your soundcard, which means that you get a perfect copy of the original source with no loss of any kind.

By default, these copies are saved as .wav files, but there is an option to copy audio into the popular MP3 format, by using either the built-in encoder or a variety of external encoders. It can also produce Microsoft WMA files.

Packed full of features and options, it's bound to include the tool you need. Normalise tracks to ensure they all record at the same volume, create ID3 tags for your resulting copies, access track and album info using the well-known CDDB database, and even use it as a simple audio player if you wish.

With a simple design and a well organised menu system, you'll find it extremely easy to use Audiograbber if you're new to ripping audio. If you're an experienced user you should find the range of tools very helpful, enabling you to organise your audio as you wish, all within one application.

You're given a choice of three methods with which to access the CDRom, and with no standard setting it's important to have these options. No matter what CDRom drive you have, Audiograbber is bound to support it through one of these access methods.

The speed at which music will be copied depends on your CDRom drive rather than Audiograbber, but most will copy at 6x speed, which is fast enough, and some will copy even faster.
