mailedSAFE

Impressive and free antivirus and antispyware package

Platform : Windows 2000, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows NT

Type:

Manufacturer: mailedSAFE

Size: 6.17Mb

Rating: 5

Verdict: A great antivirus and antispyware program at no cost

System Requirements:
A 486 or better processor, 16Mb RAM, 10Mb free hard disk space, internet connection, email account.

mailedSAFE has been updated recently and now supports Microsoft Outlook, Lotus Notes and Microsoft Outlook Express, along with most other MAPI compliant email software.

So now you can send and receive encrypted emails using practically any email client, and without the costs typically associated with managing encryption key sets. This also means you can encrypt and send emails through web-based email services such as Hotmail, as long as it's done via an email client.

mailedSAFE uses its own unique Dynamically Allocated Random Key (DARK) encryption method, which means that whenever you send an encrypted email, the key combination is unique every time. And with trillions of possible combinations, it is extremely secure.

By using mailedSAFE you can be safe in the knowledge that your email content is secure, along with appreciating its ease of use. There's no need to exchange public keys or passwords, etc (as you may be used to) - simply send the email directly from within your email client, as normal.

There's no need for the recipient of the encrypted email(s) to possess the full version of the software: by downloading this 14-day trial, they get to send and receive for 14 days, after which time the program just allows you to decrypt messages only. A link is provided with all sent emails, directing them to the free download.

The security system used within mailedSAFE is fairly intelligent, being able to validate the recipient's email address to ensure they are the intended target. It will even prevent decryption of any email that has been altered. Even with mailedSAFE on their system, unless they are the intended recipient, they will be unable to read any encrypted emails.
