As most guitar players will know, there is a huge amount of guitar music (or tab) available on the internet. A search for almost any song by any artist will usually supply results, but making tab yourself can be a very difficult process.
Power Tab Editor is a well designed program that lets you enter guitar music easily using the 'staffs' on screen. Adding a whole range of dynamics, including string bends, slides and pull-offs, is easy using the simple on-screen menus and buttons.
The ability to output your tab as html and ascii is also included, allowing you to share your own compositions with the rest of the world. The built in Midi support makes it easy to check that your songs are OK, even without having a guitar handy.
The whole program is very well designed and extremely pleasant to use, with the most important thing being that it's completely free.
