RealOne Mobile Player is only compatible with Palm-branded OS 5 devices with ARM processors (Tungsten T, Tungsten C and Zire 71). Requires external SD memory card for storage of media files; 500KB free space on device; USB connection.Non-Palm branded devices such as the Sony Clie and older Palm devices such as the M5xx series are not yet supported.

The desktop version of the RealOne Player is quite popular, and now RealNetworks has launched a mobile version of the very same player for Palm OS devices.

It offers support for RealMedia (.rm) and MP3 files, although the latter are actually converted into RealMedia files when transferred to the device, and only at 96Kbps.

Unless you have a wireless modem on your handheld there is little you can do with the player other than listen to MP3s. This is because Real files have to be streamed rather than saved to your hard drive.

Even with a wireless modem the streaming content will be rather scrappy, as the transfer rates are still pretty low.

You can create playlists, but there isn't much else in the way of interactivity - you can simply play audio and video.
