With PopUp Note there is no need to quit the application you are currently using if you wish to make or view a note in Memo Pad. This program allows you to do all this from within any application you may be using.

This is a Hackmaster extension, and as such requires the program Hackmaster to run it. Hackmaster is a small program that allows you to add vast functionality to your Palm, in the form of small programs called Hacks, of which PopUp Note is one. Hackmaster is included with PopUp Note, just make sure you install Hackmaster before you install PopUp Note.

You simply install PopUp Note, specify a keystroke that will launch the program (such as a swipe of the stylus from the Calculator to the screen) in the programs preferences, and there you have it - instant access to the Memo Pad from any application.

It is basic in its functionality, but can be useful for making quick notes or for viewing current notes in Memo Pad from any application you wish. No more having to quit one program and launch the Memo Pad before you can make a note - simply swipe and go.

You can specify the font you wish to use, the category in which to place the note, and whether or not to make it private. As mentioned, you can also view and even edit any notes you already have, again organised into the same categories as in Memo Pad. Make or read your note, tap the 'done' button and you are back in your original application.

You do need to be careful with Hackmaster extensions, however - they can make your Palm unstable, and the more you have the more chance there is of your Palm becoming unstable. Simply ensure you keep the number of Hacks you use to a minimum, and everything will be fine.
