Verdict: If you want detailed information about your hard disk space, diskSpace Explorer will provide.

System Requirements:
Nothing special required.

diskSpace Explorer is a powerful tool for managing hard drive space, and ensuring that you are making the most of the space you have.

Run the program and it will scan your hard drive(s) before providing detailed information on how the space is being utilised, and how things would compare should you convert to a different file system (FAT32 or NTFS, for example).

Each file system format has slightly different cluster sizes, of which there could be many clusters that are full of wasted space.

Once a cluster has been used to store one file, even if there is space left it cannot be allocated to another file. Simply alter the file system used, and you could save megabytes of space.

Everything is presented in a clear, concise manner with a pie-chart diagram used to detail the space used by each program/file on a hard drive. Using this pie chart you can zoom in to specific folders, to discover exactly how much space each separate file is utilising.

Folders can be archived or deleted directly from within diskSpace Explorer, as can programs. This is not a recommended way to uninstall programs, however: a better option is to use a program such as Add/Remove Plus!.
