Quickoffice 7.1

Impressive and free antivirus and antispyware package

Platform : Palm OS

Type:

Manufacturer: Mobility Electronics

Size: 10.12MB

Rating: 4

Verdict: A great antivirus and antispyware program at no cost

System Requirements:
Quick Office is compatible with any of the following devices: Palm m500, m505, m100, m105, m125, VII, VIIx, V, Vx, III, IIIx, IIIxe, IIIc, IBM WorkPad, Handspring Visor series, Sony CLIE series, Samsung i300, HandEra 330, TRGpro, or any device running Palm OS 3.0 or above with 510kb of available memory.Minimum PC specs: Windows 95/98/Me/NT/2000; 6MB hard disk space; HotSync 3.0 or newer; Microsoft Excel 5.0/95/97/2000/XP; Microsoft Word 97/2000/XP.

Quickoffice comprises three applications (Quickword, Quicksheet and Quickchart), and provides you with powerful mobile document editing and creation.

Quicksheet is compatible with Microsoft Excel; Quickword with Microsoft Word; and Quickchart is an add-on for Quicksheet, enabling charts to be created on the Palm.

Quickoffice enables you to manage your documents on your Palm, offering full editing facilities, with documents being easily transferred from your Palm to your PC, and vice versa.

The stronger of the two major programs is Quicksheet, being a Palm Platinum certified spreadsheet. It offers complete compatibility with Excel on your PC, offering many of the desktop functions, including more than 60 scientific, financial, statistical, date and time, lookup and aggregate functions. Add to this the ability to create charts (with Quickchart) and you have one feature-packed application.

Quickword offers similar functionality with Word, enabling documents to be edited on the move in the popular Palm 'Doc' format - this also means it can be used to read the many electronic books available for the Palm.

When performing a HotSync operation the edited file on your Palm does not replace the original file on your PC. Instead, a separate copy is created within the Quickoffice Desktop, which is a little annoying.
