InBoxer 1.2

Impressive and free antivirus and antispyware package

Platform : Windows 2000, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows NT, Windows XP

Type:

Manufacturer: Audiotrieve

Size: 5.2MB

Rating: 5

Verdict: A great antivirus and antispyware program at no cost

System Requirements:
Minimum: Pentium processor or equivalent; 20MB hard disk space; Microsoft Outlook version 2000, 2002, XP or 2003. InBoxer supports PCs using Microsoft Exchange (including the BlackBerry Enterprise Server for Exchange), POP3, IMAP, Hotmail, MSN Mail and multiple profiles.

InBoxer is simple to install and use, but only works with Microsoft Outlook. The software automatically scans mail as it arrives and decides if it's spam or legitimate email by referring to its built-in list of recognised 'good' and 'bad' messages.

The quick setup routine is a breeze, and when it's complete you'll find two new folders labelled 'InBoxer Blocked' and 'InBoxer Review' in your Outlook folder menu.

Any message recognised as spam is stored in the Blocked folder, while any the program's not sure about are stored in the Review folder. The contents of both folders can be checked and altered as needed.

InBoxer learns as it goes, so if a piece of spam does appear in your inbox just click the Block button on the toolbar and the application will remember it as spam.

There are also whitelist and blacklist features so you can mark email addresses or domain names as good or bad. Addresses in the whitelist will be allowed through, while those in the blacklist will be blocked.
