PCs quickly fill up with unwanted and unneeded files that do nothing but take up disk space and slow everything down.
4DiskClean Gold is another program offering to clean your hard drive of all such unnecessary files but, unlike many, this program does it all at the click of a button.
Carry out a clean and the following data is either moved to the recycle bin or permanently deleted, depending on your choice:
- Temporary, junk or old back-up extensions
- Redundant shortcuts and 0-byte files
- Browser cache, history and cookies (Netscape and IE)
- Recent document list
- Recycle bin
- Temporary folders
- Duplicate DLLs and files
As a security measure, a Zip file containing all files deleted can be created, in the unlikely event that an important file is deleted.
Only one drive is cleaned at a time so, if you have more than one drive/partition, multiple cleans are required.
4DiskClean Gold also features various graphs detailing disk usage (e.g. directory size, large files, system info etc.).
Version 4.5 includes a spyware blocker, which prevents spyware being installed, and can prevent existing spyware from running.
