CloneCD is an impressive piece of 1:1 copying software which, due to a change in Swiss copyright laws, has been sold to SlySoft.
Only straight CD copying is possible (no CD creation), but the process couldn't be simpler. A well-presented row of four icons for carrying out different functions and an optional log window are all that you are presented with upon launch.
Its available functions are: Read to Image File, Write from Image File, Copy CD and Erase CD. This means that CloneCD can make copies 'on-the-fly' or create an image of a CD for burning later. The Erase CD function erases CD-RW media very quickly.
CloneCD writes in Raw mode for complete control of written data, and does not require an ASPI driver unlike most other copy software.
The size of both the buffer and underrun protection buffer can be altered via CloneCD's settings.
The latest version adds support for copying SafeDisc 3 protected CDs, and it can also copy many types of DVD.
