Sun Clock is a screensaver that features a world map with 36 major cities
highlighted with the current time displayed alongside each one. Click anywhere
else on the map and the location and current date and time pop up on-screen.
Below the map is an area that can be personalised. Simply select a major city
in the options menu and the time and date will be displayed in both analogue and
digital formats. Also present are daily details of sunrise/sunset and
moonrise/moonset times, and the longitude/latitude co-ordinates for the chosen
city.
Both night and day are simulated on-screen, with night represented by a
shadow that covers part of the map. Any solar or lunar eclipses that may be
happening can be observed.
An extra feature is the option to display the compass direction to Mecca from
your location. Also present, and of interest to astronomers, is the Julian date,
which is accurate to the second.
As well as running as a screensaver Sun Clock can sit in your system tray,
ready to open at the click of your mouse.
Sun Clock can run in a number of languages, including English, Spanish,
French and German.
