A total of 7881 people voted in the
wireless routers category this year,
and that’s testament to the growth
of the wireless for home broadband.
Many people obtain their router as
a discounted product from their ISP,
so the balance of how many people
responded about a manufacturer is
reflective both of their market share
and their ability to do deals with ISPs.
Billion was the winner ahead of
Linksys, and both had 380 of their 750
and 800 customers respectively say
they were very satisfied for speed and
range – the key components of wireless
router performance. Reliability was
similarly high, with some 400 customers
from each being very satisfied. Value
for money was where Billion glided
ahead of Linksys by a narrow margin.
Dynalink had a smaller number of
respondents, but with 100 of 198 very
satisfied, they equalled the satisfaction
rating of Billion to share the win.
For the remainder of router
manufacturers, Asus and Netgear also
rate a mention – they both earned five
stars across the board, and weren’t far
out of the running.
