13,572 votes were cast for printers,
both inkjet and laser. The runaway
winner in printers this year was Canon
– 94% of its customers would stick
with the brand for their next purchase
and over 90% of users were happy with
print quality and reliability. 2653 of the
4271 Canon printer owners declared
themselves very satisfied. A very good
performance.
Not surprisingly, most people are
less satisfied with value for money –
particularly printing costs – and around
20% of their users dissatisfied or very
dissatisfied with costs involved.
Our survey showed that most people
are happy with their choice of printer,
and 89% overall would purchase a
printer by their current manufacturer.
Dell and Lexmark customers, however,
were less enthusiastic, with only 67%
and 72%, respectively, saying they
would buy again.
Even though they
only produce laser printers, Fuji-
Xerox and Kyocera were also standout
performers. The numbers were much
smaller for these two companies, but
less than 2% were anything other than
satisfied. Other manufacturers who did
well were Samsung and Brother.
