The digital camera category is still
weighted heavily in favour of compact
cameras compared to DSLRs and even
with 11,704 total votes cast we didn’t
have enough DSLR users to break it
out into a separate category.
For image quality, Nikon, Panasonic
and Canon all scored well, with Nikon
just on top.
Panasonic got the nod for
reliability over Nikon, but the results
were very close.
Canon topped the
list for value for money, just ahead
of Nikon, with 2000 of its 3871
customers very satisfied with the price
they paid. Not only that, but 97% of
Canon customers said they’d go back
to Canon for their next camera. Nikon
was just behind with 96%.
Although these three brands were
very close at the top of the pile, Pentax
wasn’t too far behind, and doesn’t earn a
highly recommended only because value
for money was rated below average.
There were no standouts trailing the
field, although those purchasing from
brands other than those listed were more
likely to be dissatisfied overall.
