All the great games of 2007 seemed to come in a rush at the end, and if we’d extended our deadline even a little bit, the winners might have looked a bit different. Enemy Territory: Quake Wars was undeniably fantastic – combining the best bits of Counter Strike and Unreal Tournament while adding unique innovations.
But there were other games this year that were a bit different, a bit unusual and dare we say it, even more fun. The Editorial team was evenly split between the awesome Guitar Hero games and the innovative puzzle-based Portal. Both transcend gender and age to provide fun that’s worth every minute of your time.
Other contenders included the late Colin McRae's DIRT, the glorious-looking BioShock and the much anticipated Team Fortress 2.
