Review: DRAYTEK VIGOR 2830N-PLUS

Review: DRAYTEK VIGOR 2830N-PLUS
A pricey, feature-packed wireless router aimed primarily at business users.

DrayTek’s routers are targeted at businesses rather than consumers, and we’ve been impressed in the past with the sheer spread of features.

The Vigor 2830n-Plus is no different, packing in web content filtering (requiring a subscription), VPN client/server features, guest SSIDs, VLAN support, USB for storage, printers and 3G, plus dual ADSL and cable ports for the ultimate in internet connection flexibility – and four Gigabit Ethernet ports.

Trouble is, wireless performance is nothing to write home about, NAS performance is dire (with support for only FAT32 devices), and you have to choose between either 2.4GHz or 5GHz connectivity – it can’t maintain concurrent networks. Plus it is incredibly expensive.
