Universal laptop power supplies always seem incongruous products right up until you actually need one. We find this most often occurs when someone arrives at the office wanting to present on a laptop with dwindling battery reserves, but it is also quite useful if you have a few devices, or a sensible replacement if your stock adapter dies (there are minor space and weight savings to be had sometimes).

That said, we see this as being most beneficial as an additional device for emergencies. It does ship with nine different power tips, suitable for most of the laptops on the market, and also sports a USB port for charging such devices. It’s a good, solid offering with wide compatibility, and for that we have to give it props.

However, while it is handy to have around, if your current adapter works fine then there’s no pressing imperative to replace it.
