The brand new HC100 from Mitsubishi Electric is a more traditional looking home theatre projector with a centremounted lens, and curved lines. It definitely looks at home on a coffee table (but can also be mounted).
Under test we noticed some slight colour aberration with high-contrasting colour screens, but overall the image quality was some of the crispest, clearest and brightest of the projectors tested. The white colours were unsaturated, and the colour tracking was near-perfect.

In the real world benchmarks the HC100 again performed outstandingly. The only ‘blot’ would be that the displayed text screens were on par with expectation, everything else was well above average.

The PC desktop was clear, the DVD and 3D playback was excellent and there was no noticeable ghosting whatsoever.

High ANSI lumens brightness rating and an equally high contrast ratio, coupled with the fact that the HC100 has every video connection you could hope for; D-Sub, DVI, S-Video, component and Composite are all available, makes this a great projector for the home or even the small business with a bit of leisure projection in mind.

The full suite of connections alone make this the projector to buy regardless of what your equipment currently is.
An excellent projector regardless of how you intend to use it, the only bug we noted with the HC100 was that there was a little more heat output than we’d like – but that’s just because we’re trying to find a fault.
