Play Magic: The Gathering at Atomic HQ!

Play Magic: The Gathering at Atomic HQ!

Got a hankering for some old school gaming with a deck of cards and awesome magical power? Our sister publication Atomic and Wizards of the Coast have got you covered.

Once upon a time, I worked in a bookstore. It was Galaxy Bookshop, and we used to get some pretty cool stuff come into the shop - like this weird looking 'collectible' card game called Magic: The Gathering.

I and a few others of us gave it a try, and it was... fun. Surprisingly fun, actually, and the decks of cards that we bought were all first edition, limited black borders. I kinda fell out of the habit after a little while, and got back to my first love, Roleplaying. But I remember watching that 'simple' card game go from strength to strength, as it became a fiendishly competitive culture all its own.

So now things have kind of come full circle, and I'm kinda pleased to announce that Atomic is partnering up with Wizards of the Coast to present not only a one of a kind Magic event to celebrate the new 2012 Core Set, but also a special offer to get everyone of you set up with your first Magic deck in preparation.

Yep, Atomic's getting uber-nerdy, and we want you to join us at Atomic HQ! For full details on the event and the special offer that goes with it, check out our comp page.

Seriously - you'll want to tap that.
