Has iPhone 5 production started?

Rumours abound that Pegatron has already started production of the much anticipated next generation iPhone.

According to sources based out of Taiwan, electonics manufacturer Pegatron has already begun production of the iPhone 5.

Pegatron produces large amounts of computing and consumer electronics components and devices for a wide array of customers. The industry rumour suggests that production has begun in the company's Shanghai factory.

If true, it would mean that a launch would not be too far behind and it fits with the general suggestion of an October launch for the new Apple device.

Speculation about the iPhone 5 has been rife, with innumerable leaked photos and rumours regarding possible engineering and design changes.
