Two UK teens plead guilty to LulzSec involvement

LulzSec members face the music after their hacking spree

UK teenagers Ryan Cleary, 19, and Jake Davis, 18 have admitted their involvement in the LulzSec hacker group.

The two have pleaded guilty to charges they attacked a number of high profile websites including the UK's Serious Organised Crime Agency (SOCA).

Two others from the group – Ryan Ackroyd, 25, and an unnamed 17-year-old denied the charges.

LulzSec appeared in May 2011, as a splinter group of the Anonymous hacker group.

They have launched multiple DDoS attacks against websites, choking them with traffic as well as uploading prank stories on news sites. It claimed responsibility for an attack on The Sun's website which placed an article reporting that News International boss Rupert Murdoch had committed suicide.

Cleary is also in hot water with the authorities in the US where he is accused attacks on websites including the US X Factor to deface them and steal personal details.

The trial is set for April 2013, and while the other three have been released on bail, Cleary has been denied bail after breaching a previous internet usage ban.
