Get along to the Australian Finals of Microsoft's Imagine Cup!

Got a free afternoon on Tuesday next week? Then support some local big brains in their quest to win the Microsoft Imagine Cup.

Microsoft's Imagine Cup is an annual, international event that challenges university students to solve major issues facing the world today, using technology and native smarts. This year, it's come to Melbourne, and the exciting final is being held on Tuesday the 1st of May.

There are teams competing from the University of Melbourne, the University of Canberra, the University of Southern Queensland, the University of New South Wales, tackling issues as diverse as healthcare to managing food production. Find out more about the teams and their projects here.

Five teams have made it to the final, and if you want to see them present their concepts, and find out who wins the big prize, register now for the event. It's free, it's at the ACMI in Melbourne, and you'll even go into the draw for an Xbox 360 and Kinect bundle. Plus there'll be drinks and snacks.
