Double your Dropbox space

Double your Dropbox space

Very handy if you're already shovelling photos and documents and miscellanous files using Dropbox - you can up your storage holding.

Dropbox is used by several of us here at PC & Tech Authority - it's had it's security scares, but if you're not storing anything extremely sensitive, it's very handy.

The good news is they've doubled the amount of storage that you can get by referrals - with the maximum now totalling 16GB for the free version and 32GB for the Pro version.

"For every friend you invite that installs Dropbox, you’ll get 500 MB of free space," explains the official Dropbox blog. "If you’ve got a free account, you can invite up to 32 people for a whopping total of 16 GB of extra space. Pro accounts now earn 1 GB per referral, for a total of 32 GB of extra space."

Previously, Dropbox offered 250MB per referral for both the Pro and free version.

There's also good news for people who had previously invited people to sign up with Dropbox during the 250MB offer - the company has promised to add the additional storage credit to your account "within a few days".

To get the most bang for your buck, Dropbox recommends importing all your email contacts, posting  invites on FaceBook and Twitter and sharing your unique referral link "in emails, blogs, or whatever you’d like". Just be mindful of the fact that many people don't take kindly to being spammed.
