Samsung details five new features for Samsung Galaxy S II ICS upgrade

It’s been a while coming, but Samsung’s Galaxy S II will get more than just Ice Cream Sandwich with its update.

Samsung has revealed the five new features bundled with its Galaxy S II Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0) update via its product planning team.

The uber-popular phone (we awarded five stars in our Samsung Galaxy S II review) now gets added security for Face Unlock that means users blink to gain access to their phone’s inner sanctum of apps, contacts and web history.

Sammy’s developers have also thrown in the self-explanatory Photo Editor, Beta Font to control text size and Snapshot, which adds the ability to take stills while recording video. Further personalisation tweaks are afforded with the less intuitively named S Go Launcher Pro that allows changes to the main screen and icons.

And the product team says those upgrades will soon be available for the Galaxy Note. Good times for Samsung owners, then. Even if we can imagine getting some funny looks while frantically blinking at our touchscreens.
