Toshiba turns to tablets

The Japanese manufacturer readies four tablets for early 2011 release

After rolling out the Libretto W100 dual screen laptop PC and the 10.1-inch Android-fueled Folio 100, it appears Toshiba has got the taste for more tablets. According to DigiTimes, the Japanese outfit is planning to launch not one, not two, but three slates in the early part of 2011 with a fourth smaller smartphone-esque 7 inch tab in the pipeline for later in the year.

For now, Tosh is concentrating its efforts on larger iPad-sized trays with two 10.1-inch and a11.6-inch models mooted. Not only that but all the OS flavours - Microsoft Windows 7, Android and Google’s new upcoming Chrome OS - will be covered. All four tablets are rumoured to be making an appearence at CES 2011.
